“Don’t you find it odd," she continued, "that when you’re a kid, everyone, all the world, encourages you to follow your dreams. But when you’re older, somehow they act offended if you even try.”—Ethan Hawke (via misssaywhatsreal)
Today is probably the third or fourth time that someone asked me “How many sets do you have left?” while at the gym. Now of course this is a normal thing to ask and I would always answer politely even though it has been annoying me. Its annoying only because I just noticed that I’m the only one who they go up to and ask that question when as a matter of fact ALL the squat racks are taken by other men. Second, those men on the other squat racks were there way before me using the equipment so why the heck would you ask me when you clearly just saw I just finished my first set?! As much I don’t want to say it, this has happened a few times now and I feel like these guys had the sense of entitlement or to dominate just because I’m the only girl by the squat racks. Its frustrating because not only do I feel annoyed but also rushed.
But guess what dude, I’m still going to finish my sets and you can wait. You have a nice day.
“The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”—Steve Jobs (via onlinecounsellingcollege)
“Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind.”—Bertrand Russell (via thatkindofwoman)
Sometimes, I’m completely frustrated with your lack of words, but then I look at you carefully and I feel it. That feeling that I get every time I get a chance to look at you, really look at you, it’s a mixture of joy and curiosity. I'm happy that I am able to call you mine, but curious as to whether you feel the same, because love is wondering what’s going on in your head, but really never finding out.
